BRAZIL
We manage Viabahia, one of the main concessions in the Brazilian state of Bahia, Brazil’s second most popular tourist destination and an important commercial port.
We connect the state north to south through 681 kilometres of road, divided between BR-116 and BR-324, two key transport arteries that communicate the main population centres of the state.

Viabahia will maintain operations
and toll collection
During 2024, we invested R$2,179,866,000 R in road infrastructure, including recovery, paving, lighting and security works. We registered a 4.7% increase in traffic, with 41,765,000 vehicles, and the toll collection reached R$483,721,000, 13.33% higher than in 2023. In addition, R$29,777,000 were paid in taxes and R$201,047.91 were allocated to socio-environmental projects.
After months of negotiations mediated by the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU), Viabahia, the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) and the Ministry of Transport reached an agreement for the Concession Contract in October 2024. This agreement was approved by the TCU on 5 February 2025 through agreement No. 199/2025.
The agreement will terminate the Concession Contract for motorways, transferring it to the National Infrastructure and Transport Department (DNIT). Implementation of the agreement was subject to the approval of the yearly budgetary act for 2025, which has been recently passed and therefore it is expected to be signed shortly.
As part of the agreement, the TCU will compensate Viabahia with R$892,000,000, which will be used to offset the remaining book value of investments. Until the contract expires, Viabahia will continue operating the tolls and collecting the charges, ensuring the roads' safety and functionality.
