As I embark on the privileged journey as the newly appointed Chair of the Board of ROADIS I would like to thank my predecessor, Patrick Samson. During his four years as Chair of the Board, Patrick adhered to the strictest standards of ethics and professionalism.
Patrick led the ROADIS team through numerous transformations and important milestones – ensuring to uphold ROADIS’ values by continuing our commitment to sustainability in order to protect the communities in which we operate.
In 2019 ROADIS continued to grow our asset portfolio, most notably, we were awarded the 7.9 km extension of the Monterrey-Saltillo highway: the Santa Catarina Viaduct. The construction of the elevated viaduct will be one of the largest prefabricated structures of its kind.
An ongoing commitment to communities
People, community and safety are at the forefront of what we do and how we do it. Corporate responsibility is an essential part of our DNA and is directly linked to employee health and safety and road safety. In 2019, we renewed our collaboration with Fundación Real Madrid, and we are again its leading partner in India. Through this collaboration, which is now in its fourth year, we are continuing to promote the values of sport, education, healthcare and healthy diet for disadvantaged children from rural communities. One such example is the work done at the Kheadah Socio-sporting School, which is attended each day by over 200 boys and girls.
In 2019 the Board of Directors set a strategic target to ensure that absolutely all of our employees and our suppliers’ employees arrive home safe every day. Over the last 12 months, we have made tremendous progress developing specific training, as well as the implementing health and safety measures and programs in every location. ROADIS also launched a global campaign -“Your safety, our priority”- in order to highlight the importance of road safety – raising awareness amongst the more than two hundred thousand vehicles which use our roads every day.
A final word
Our future is an exciting challenge. We will continue to uphold our commitment to offer an attractive return on our investments, whilst reducing risks and maintaining high quality standards in our asset management.
Over the next few years, we will continue to seek out new opportunities to expand our portfolio and consolidate our market position. With the collaboration and support of the entire ROADIS team, we will successfully execute our strategy and stand out as an industry leader.
